We are building the most comprehensive event tech platform on the planet. Our system assists event organizers in planning, promoting and selling tickets for their events.
Your role
As a Medior Software Developer, you help build the platform event organizers use to plan and promote their events and sell tickets. You take on features and tasks independently, from refinement to production, and you're a steady presence on the team. You write and review code and help shape the architecture of the systems you work on. You also help Junior Developers and interns grow through pairing, reviews, and informal mentoring.
What will you do?
Independently develop small to medium-sized features, including more complex bug fixes.
Contribute to subsystem design and help shape architectural decisions together with Senior Developers and the Principal Engineer.
Write thorough automated tests and help identify and close gaps in the team's test coverage.
Review code for other developers, giving substantive feedback on design and quality, not just style.
Translate functional requirements into technical tasks and estimate work of medium complexity.
Work directly with UX/UI designers and product managers on the features you build together.
Explain technical concepts and trade-offs clearly to non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
Guide Junior Developers and interns through onboarding, pairing, and informal coaching.
Keep up with relevant new technologies and bring useful insights back to the team.
Proactively report progress, risks, and blockers to the Engineering Manager and the team.
Document decisions and learnings, and share knowledge beyond your own team.
Who are you?
We're looking for a developer who takes features from refinement to production with limited guidance. You combine a solid technical foundation with a healthy sense of ownership: you don't wait around, you spot what can be improved and take it on yourself. You're as comfortable in an architecture discussion as you are explaining a technical choice to a colleague outside engineering.
3 to 5 years of professional software development experience, with a track record in both delivering features and code quality.
A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrably equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, the SDLC, and common architectural patterns.
Practical knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Comfortable with cloud concepts (AWS) and Linux environments.
Regular, hands-on use of AI coding assistants.
Proficient with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong at independent problem-solving, estimating work, and translating functional requirements into technical tasks.
Fluent in Dutch and English.
